Privacy policy and terms

Last updated 19 October 2026

LinkedIn Decision Maker Search is a free tool made and run by Ian Hamblin, an individual based in the United Kingdom, who is responsible for this site. It's open to people anywhere in the world and is built to collect as little as possible. In short: no cookies, no tracking, no accounts, and what you type stays on your own device.

What stays on your device

To remember your work between visits, the page saves what you enter (company, field, location, job titles, your own lists and your previous searches) in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device and isn't sent to me or anyone else.

This storage is only used to provide the feature you're using, and you're in control of it:

What the site doesn't do

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives your IP address and basic request details (such as your browser type and the page asked for) when you visit, so it can deliver the page and protect it from attacks. The legal basis for this is the legitimate interest in running a secure website. I don't keep visitor logs.

Cloudflare runs a global network, so this data may be handled in countries other than your own. Cloudflare says it protects international transfers with recognised safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.

When you run a search

"Search on Google" opens your search on google.com in a new tab. From that point Google's privacy policy applies, and the same goes for any LinkedIn profiles you open from the results. This site isn't affiliated with, or endorsed by, Google or LinkedIn. LinkedIn is a trademark of LinkedIn Corporation, used here only to describe what the tool searches.

Children

This tool is for job seekers and isn't aimed at children under 16. It doesn't knowingly collect anyone's personal data, children's included.

Your rights, wherever you live

Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as the GDPR (EU and EEA), the UK GDPR, California's CCPA/CPRA, Brazil's LGPD, Canada's PIPEDA or Australia's Privacy Act give you rights over your personal data, such as to access, correct or delete it, or to object to its use.

Because I don't collect or store personal data about you, there's nothing for me to hand over or delete. Everything the tool keeps is in your own browser and under your control. If you have a question or concern, contact me through LinkedIn.

You can also complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK that's the Information Commissioner's Office; in the EU and EEA, see the list of national authorities.

Changes

If the way the site handles data changes, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
